A. Shahsavan tribe

The original motherland of the Shahsavan tribe was Azerbaijan and the suburbs of Mosul and Baghdad in Iraq. Baghdadi and Mosuli clans believe that they have come from Baghdad and Mosul. During Nader Shah's reign, part of this tribe moved to Saveh and during the Qajar period they shifted to Varamin and the southern part of the Tehran Province. The Shahsavan tribesmen speak Turkish and the majority of them dwell in Varamin, Savojbolagh, Shahriar, Karaj and Eshtehard. Shahsavan tribe is divided into Mohammadlu, Boordar, Jalalu, Eskandari, Sheikhlu, Jarilu, Sanayi, Nasserkheil, Mosulu, Baghdadi, Dezlu, Qahrlu, Husseinkhanlu and Rezayi families.

During 1987 some 23 families of this tribe took quarter in the Tehran Province as their summer resort.

B. ASANLU TRIBE

This tribe was carried to the Tehran Province upon the instruction of Agha Mohammad Khan in order to prevent the Turkmans from invading the capital. At that time they were composed of 1000 families. In 1987 about 28 families or 43 persons from the Asanlu tribe were living in Tehran. >>

D. TAROOD TRIBE

This tribe which were cited as independent Tarood tribesmen in the 1987 census, are divided into Kalich, Bahu, Chaharpashlu, and Pazooki tribesmen and were probably moved from Zanjan to Tehran during the time of Agha Mohammad Khan, the Qajar founder. Their summer quarter is located around Tarood village, west of Firoozkuh, and their winter quarter is Shahrood and Sabzevar. The families of these tribesmen dwell in Tarood village in winters and move to the suburbs in summer. In 1987 the Tarood tribe were 687 persons in 115 families.
